2021 Fall Hammer-In with Brian Brazeal and Mark Ling

Price: $150 per class day

North Texas Blacksmith Association is pround to host Brian Brazeal and Mark Ling for the 2021 Fall Hammer-In. Classes will take place in the 2nd week of November at Tx-Ture Farm in Cross Roads, TX on Wednesday (Nov. 10th), Thursday (Nov. 11th), and Friday (Nov. 12th). Each class will have 8-10 limited slots available. Since availability is limited, it will be a "First-Come, First Serve" basis with paid registration thru PayPal. If you cannot register thru PayPal, please contact us. NTxBA membership is inclued for participation in the class.

If someone under the age of 18 wishes to participate in a class, a parent or guardian must be present to supervise and also be a member of the NTxBA (for insurance reasons). If you are not yet a member, you can sign-up & pay on the day of the class or here thru PayPal. You can add extra membership at the bottom of the page.

Brian Brazeal

Brian Brazeal is a very talented and known blacksmith who has taught many other well known smiths, Mark Ling included. He is well known for his "tools to make tools" smithing curriculum.


Brian will be teaching 3 different classes which revolve around the idea of tools to make tools. Each class is independant and each class day may be taken individually, but it is recommended to take all three classes to get the most benefit. Please see below for more details regarding each class.

Mark Ling

Mark Ling is a former student of Brian Brazeal who has forged his way blacksmithing to make it his own. He has made a name for himself a tool maker.
Mark will be teaching 3 different classes. Each class will be independent of each other and each will cover a different topic. Please see below for more details regarding each class.

Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 from 9am - 6pm

1 Day Class - $150

Thursday, November 11th, 2021 from 9am - 6pm

1 Day Class - $150

Day 2 of Brian Brazeal's class. Hardy tools. Student will be making hardy tools under the direction of Brian on striking anvils.

Friday, November 8th, 2019 from 9am - 5pm

1 Day Class - $150

Day 3 of Brian Brazeal's class.

Mark Ling Classes

Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 from 9am - 6pm

1 Day Class - $150

In this class, Mark will be going over how to make a handled punch and handled slitter.
Please add each day you wish to attend to the cart when checking out.


Thursday, November 11th, 2021 from 9am - 6pm

1 Day Class - $150

In this class, Mark will be going over how to make a handled top fuller and bottom fuller tool.
Please add each day you wish to attend to the cart when checking out.


Friday, November 12th, 2021 from 9am - 6pm

1 Day Class - $150

In this class, Mark will be going over how to make a handled flatter.
Please add each day you wish to attend to the cart when checking out.


Fall Hammer-In Conference & Auction

Saturday, November 13th, 2021 from 10am-2pm

Price - $30

This conference will feature Brian Brazeal and Mark Ling as our demonstrators.

All items that they makes will be in the auction following the conference. Please feel free to bring anything you've made to donate to the auction. There will also be a toolbox raffle. Tickets purchose options will be 1x$3 2x$5 5x$10. The toolbox raffle will be drawn at 2pm. You must be preset to win. The auction will follow the tool box raffle drawing. All proceeds will benefit the club and help fund other events such as this.
> If time permits, there may be open-forging available after the auction.
The cost to attend the conference will be $30. As a bonus for non-NTxBA Members, paid attendance will automatically give you 12-months of membership to the club. New members, please leave your name, email, address, and a phone number in the "instructions for merchant" box when you check out.

Volunteer Demonstrators & Tailgaters

There will be several open spots (10x10) for NTxBA demonstrators of blacksmithing. Free attendance for demonstrators. No vendor fee associated with small vendors. Please fill out the vendor application: Vendor Form
Please put that you are a blacksmithi demonstrator in the notes section to waive the fee.

Tailgaters can waive the vendor fee if they are current members of the North Texas Blacksmith Association.

Forging Competitions

There will be 2 forging competitions. You must have an active membership in the NTxBA in order to participate.
Fit the slot.
Timed nail making.
